WHAT: The Hounds and their pet NPCs of the moment take a submarine up from the first of many sealed Avernian Gates

WHEN: September 19, 2063 (7:00 PM to about 10:00 PM)
SAFE FOR WORK? Other than Drake's potty mouth? Probably.
OTHER NOTES: None!


[This submarine is typical Vice Military Solutions fare - that is, it's definitely more impressive than anything that the World of Light has to offer, but it's pretty average for any Keeper of the Vigil whose used to what Vice Enterprises has to offer with regard to transport.

You're all getting your own rooms to rest up in, and you have free reign of the ship right down to the bridge. You may want to lounge around in the large common area for crew and guests alike: it's got an impressive bar, and the cafeteria kitchen has been opened for your convenience.]

[They kind of just managed to apologize to each other and sort out the mess from their last real conversation.

[ And because, let's face it -- this is Josh.

He's reaching out before he can even think to do otherwise, and setting a hand over the one that Death has clenched on Hikaru's knee.

No words, just a silent offering of "okay," as the Sin-Eater offers a small smile as he looks up towards the abstract being currently using his significant other's body. ]

[ Just because Josh's curiosity is piqued, doesn't necessarily mean that he's actually going to press. He can ask questions later, because right now, all he's seeing is how he is making Brother Death more uncomfortable.

[ He attempts a smile, but that only seems to underscore how he really hadn't intended on making Death feel uncomfortable. ]

[ It sounds a little feeble, but nevertheless earnest. ]

[Nods, with a small smile of his own. The look in those eyes, though, is sad.]

[ Nodding quietly now, gaze falling to his hands. ]

[He's killing that cigarette now, and leaning back. Those eyes shut for longer than a blink, and --

Well. It's pretty obvious who is back in the next moment. Those red rings are gone, and Hikaru's... well. He's smiling at you a different way.]

You okay?

[With that look that says that yes, he heard everything, as promised.]

Yeah.

[ It's the kind of 'yeah,' that's actually a 'could be better,' but he's not going to complain. The exchange has left him a little quiet, but you heard anyway, so... ]

[Okay.

Leaning in to catch your lips with his, soft and gentle and coaxing. When he withdraws, he's keeping his eyes right on yours.

No, you don't have to say anything. But he is here to make you feel better if you need him to be.]

[ There are things he'd like to say.

It just feels impolite to voice them since the party in question happens to be attached to you. So instead, he'll give your hand a squeeze. ]

I should... let you get back to your rounds.

Only if you're sure that you'll be okay on your own.

[Saying that firmly. He could hang out with you this entire ride and do his work later.]

I'll be fine.

[ His smile is a little quiet, but he does mean it. ]

Just... thinking. [ He does lean forward as he lifts your hand to his lips though. ] It's just... stuff.

[And he's standing in the next moment, walking over, and planting another kiss right on your forehead. That's his way of saying You don't have to tell me yet without actually saying the words.]

I'll get my stuff and hunker down somewhere to work, then.

[ Josh is going to catch that hand of yours in turn and tug you back down so that he can lift his lips your way and kiss you right on that mouth.

He'll linger a bit, tell you Thank you in kind. ]

Catch you later? [ Saying that softly now. ]

Of course. I kind of can't go anywhere else as it is.

[Teasing just a bit, but the way he responded to your kiss was genuine.

He isn't going to push you. You'll come around if and when you need to.]

[ That makes him chuckle. ]

I think I'll go... check the place out. [ Not letting go of your hand just yet. You can both head back out together. ] Never been in a sub before.

[He's okay with this. The whole stepping out together thing, that is.]

Well, after a sub like this? You'll find all of the others that you might end up on boring.

[ There's a brief pause before he leans in to press a kiss to your cheek, and then he's stepping away with a final squeeze of your hand. ]
