Now that it’s gone, some Keepers of the Vigil and supernaturals as a whole are seeing, firsthand, just how bad it can get when you’re dealing with angry lynch mobs who breed like rabbits.
The so-called "renegade Hunters" that have been listed here aren’t a unified faction per se, but are basically Keepers from the “other side” of the Vigil (the ones who believe in the wholesale destruction of the World of Darkness) and the radical human supremacists who are convinced that only “real” human beings deserve to live. The name is no coincidence: the Mary Magdalene on the Wiseman’s Committee is, indeed, the Mary Magdalene mentioned in the Bible. She’s one of the Originals of the Vampires in the Fifth World, spurned by Jesus Christ’s “betrayal of their love” (also known as, his decision to martyr himself for all supernatural kind instead of allowing her to Embrace him and save his life). The Wisemen – then under Aidan’s command – took advantage of the fact that Mary had been broken by her grief, and managed to convince her that the conspiracy needed creatures like her at the helm to forge a new world order. These are the beliefs that continue to carry Mary through tonight’s Vigil, aggravated all the more by her growing madness.

Prior to her murdering her parents - the twin Kaisers of Dark Hill - the Methuselah had a relatively peaceful relationship with the other compacts and conspiracies operating on Russian soil. Jenny enjoys the thrill of the Hunt above anything else, and is rather vocal about the fact that she couldn’t give a lesser shit about the principle behind the Vigil. As long as she gets to hurt things, she’s good.

Zangyaku’s oni-tsukai killed Nia for her betrayal, but did not anticipate the fact that a geist would take interest in her. She immediately fled to her patrons in the Methuselah, and was welcomed into the conspiracy with open arms.
