1. First Day At Falner
You have just arrived at Falner Estate, a sprawling, beautiful, 400-hectare co-located space between Britain, Germany, and the Philippines, and the main base of Netsach. The flora and fauna in the area gives both a sense of familiarity as it looks at first glance like things you’ll find on Earth, and a weird sense of otherworldliness. Given the size of the place, the Estate is less of a compound and more like a town unto itself. The older buildings within the estate are gothic in their construction, and clear throwbacks to 19th Century Europe. The newer facilities, however, sport cutting edge contemporary designs that were clearly inspired by Fourth World architecture and technology.

2. A Day On The Job
You are pushing papers at Methuselah, doing research at the Arcanum, or going out on patrol -- whatever it is that you're doing, it's just another day for you as a Hunter of the Vigil.


3. Let's Head Down to Haven
Find yourself itching for a night out on the town? Why not head over to Haven, the classy nightclub that looks like a large, monolithic black building with no visible windows from the outside and the name of the club emblazoned in bold, white letters on one side.

Haven is located in Makati City, and is open to the public (especially the local supernatural community), but you might want to prepare yourself to wait in line for a very, very long time – unless you’re a Hunter, of course.

Falner’s Maenad Division holds office on top of Haven, as does Ordo Daywalker. Some of Haven’s staff also live above the night club.


4. The Awakening

Max is going to pick that paper now by the way...and settle it next to her, as if indicating that yes, she has a system, of course. Pshh come on. ]

[ Max stop talking. ]

And then the thought occurs to her that she must at least attempt to be a shadow of her King's other daughters. She is not one of the Fair Ones, but she can be polite. ]

[ She's used to whisperers, which at least lets her hear Lyall with moderate ease.

[ That pinched expression lingers a little longer than intended and then she's mumbling something that sounds like "helloitisapleasuretomeetyou" like she's following some unspoken rule of etiquette.

She's just going to start picking up the other papers now -- starting with the ones that look like the wind might take them. ]

[ Whoa, she did something. ]

You okay Tiny? [ She already forgot her name, sorry not sorry. ]

No need to help if you'd rather go out and play. [ She notices the uniform a moment too late. ] Unless you have classes.

[lyall]

[ She's... actually not paying attention. It happens. Mostly because there are so many papers and she feels more useful like this.

Talking, again, is not her strong suit. ]

[ Max is going to stare at Lyall doing her thing for a solid three minutes, not saying a word.

Then she grabs a paper, makes a paper plane (that's an important file, Max!) and throws it at Lyall.

[ She feels the tip of the paper plane connect with her back--

--and she's immediately looking over with that pinched look again.

Breathe, little one. You have seen planes like that. Your King's youngest daughter's brother, Roy, showed her how to make one once, when she was brought to visit the Lopez home in West District. ]

[flusse]

[ Max is staring at her shamelessly. Yeah, she doesn't believe in having a soft touch. ]

Throw it back?

[ Yes? No? Is she going to try to claw her eyes off? Max is getting some weird vibes from Lyall. ]

[lyall]

[ It's a little clumsy, how she picks that paper plane up and attempts to send it back.

Only to have it nosedive not more than a foot away.

She's bad at this.

She'll go back to gathering those papers now and then come right over with them held awkwardly and messily together. ]

[flusse]

God.

[ Wow this kid needs to have fun, and not the creepy sort of fun she's pretty sure Lyall knows.

Max grabs the papers (she's learning not to just expect Lyall to give up) sets them where the one she gave her first is and stands up, picking up the paper plane and crouching next to Lyall. ]

That was the worst throw ever. [ She puts the plane right in front of the little girl. ]

Hold it from the base, slightly past the middle. I'll guide you from there on. C'mon, grab it.

[ Beats gathering papers every single time. ]

[lyall]

[ There is that momentary flinch when the woman sets the plane in front of her, and her eyes go from one to the other before she picks it up.

She's following those instructions to the letter: holding it where she's been told to.

Is she supposed to throw it now? ]

[flusse]

Okay, now you want to keep the paper plane up, somewhere around forehead level. Stand up.

[ Max makes soft hand motions, not quite touching Lyall, but prompting her to move. ]

The trick is to be quick, but delicate. It is paper after all. Too much strength and the thing just bends.

Now make wide arc with it. Start somewhere behind your head at the same height and then just swoosh, and you let it go as soon as your arm is completely extended.

[ Max has a lot of useless information. ]
