The tat peeking out from beneath the neckline of her blouse piques his curiosity, but he can tell that she's a bit uncomfortable in his presence so he offers her an easy smile. He's not entirely sure if it's the contrast in their clothing or something else, but he's familiar enough with greenhorns at Rhiannon being a bit unsettled by his presence that he can pick up little tells ( like the way she shifts her weight from one foot to the other, or the fact that she tucked the errant strand behind her ear in a gesture to recompose herself in front of him ) that clue him in on how to move.

"Bienvenida a Falner, Esperanza. Me puedes llamar Josh." He'd picked up on the Spanish in her accent, and he's come a long way from the basics known by a kid who grew up in San Diego. "Did you just get in?" He switches back to English for that last part, in a quiet offering that he's good to speak either language -- whichever makes her comfortable.
